Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC seeks an Audit Director with a strong State and Local Government background to lead engagements and nurture client relationships. This role supports a fast track to partnership while balancing workload through a hybrid work environment and relocation assistance.

The Director coordinates engagement workflow, trains staff, and develops new business opportunities, while ensuring compliance with GAAS, GAGAS, and Yellow Book standards across public sector audits.

Qualifications

• Approx. 10 years in public accounting with public sector focus.
• Minimum 2 years in a senior manager role.
• Experience auditing state and local governments (cities, counties, districts).
• Travel to client sites and firm locations required.
• Experience with GAAS, GAAP, and Yellow Book guidance.
• Not-for-profit audits experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between Partner, client, and staff to manage engagements.
• Oversee engagements from planning to delivery and ensure quality.
• Provide staff training and lead performance evaluations.
• Lead business development and prospect client outreach.
• Prepare fee estimates and participate in client meetings.
• Ensure timely scheduling and billing in line with policy.
