Job summary

Jobtailor in Illinois is seeking a senior government accounting professional to lead cost accounting for government contracts and grants. You will prepare complex financial reports, manage cost accounting systems, and ensure FAR/CAS compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (strongly preferred) or finance.
• Expertise in government accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Knowledge of FAR and CAS requirements.

• Knowledge of cost accounting processes and systems for government contracts and grants.
• Ability to prepare and analyze budgets and forecasts.

• Proficiency in financial software, Excel, and other analytical tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage and mentor junior accounting staff and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR or eligible to obtain required authorizations.

Responsibilities
