Job summary

The Governance Specialist at Society of Critical Care Medicine supports governance activities and volunteer management for the Board of Directors, Council, and other groups. You will coordinate administration, appointments, meetings, records, and communications to ensure effective governance and engaged volunteers.

This hybrid role reports to the Associate Director, Governance, and involves onboarding, elections support, and coordination for the annual Congress activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred with nonprofit governance experience.
• Five years in nonprofit governance, board administration, or similar senior admin roles preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and professional correspondence skills.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate governance administration for council, committees, and boards.
• Prepare meeting materials, track attendance, and maintain records and archives.
• Support elections, nominations, and governance voting processes.
• Assist volunteer management, onboarding, and communications with leaders.
