Job summary

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is seeking a governance professional to organize and move forward AAOS governance work. You will support Board processes, committees, and volunteers to turn priorities into action.

You will oversee international strategy, committee planning, and engagement with global partners, while guiding Resident Assembly and Community Engagement Advisory Board initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of progressive program or project coordination/management experience.
• Supervisory experience with ability to mentor and oversee staff.
• Strong communication, writing, editing, organization, and relationship-building skills for high-volume work.
• Sound judgment, discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Support Board committees, preparing materials, timelines, minutes, reports, and follow-up items.
• Manage confidential Board nominations process, including nominee submissions and related communications.
• Support disclosure and conflict of interest processes, the Convey program, and ethics resources.
