Job summary

Eden Capital Careers is seeking an Audit Director with a strong State and Local Government focus for a fast‑track path to partnership in a progressive regional CPA firm. The role offers a hybrid work environment and relocation assistance to qualified candidates.

The Director will manage multiple engagements, mentor staff, and lead business development while maintaining excellent client relationships and ensuring compliance with GAAS, GAGAS, and the Uniform Guidance.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of public accounting experience with a minimum of 2 years in a senior manager role.
• Experience auditing state and local governments (cities, counties, districts, charter schools).
• Ability to travel to client and firm locations; strong business development skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ongoing client relationships and understand client operations and control systems.
• Lead or report to the engagement partner on engagements and sign attest opinions when appropriate.
• Oversee all phases of engagements ensuring compliance with accounting frameworks and firm policies.
• Inform engagement partner of key developments and resolve issues with partner guidance.
• Schedule engagements, allocate resources, and supervise staff; provide on‑the‑job training.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the governmental sector and advise on not‑for‑profit audits.
• Drive billing/completion processes and support business development activities for the firm.
