Job summary

Progressive Regional CPA Firm seeks an Audit Director with state and local government specialization for a fast track to Partnership. Hybrid work environment; relocation assistance available.

The Director liaises with partners, clients and staff, manages multiple audits, staffs engagements, and leads staff development while pursuing new business for the Firm. Requirements include ~10 years in public accounting, at least 2 years in a senior manager role, CPA license, and ability to travel to

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting.
• Minimum 2 years in a senior manager position.
• Significant public sector auditing experience including state and local governments.
• CPA license required.
• Ability to travel to client and firm office locations.
• Experience bringing in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Experience with GAGAS/Yellow Book, GAAS and the Uniform Guidance.
• Exposure to not-for-profit audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients throughout the year; builds and maintains client relationships.
• Engagement partner role or reports to engagement partner on engagements.
• Signs attest opinions as a representative of the firm.
• Oversees all phases of reporting to engagement partner and ensures compliance with frameworks and policies.
• Keeps partner informed of important developments; identifies issues and proposes solutions.
• Ensures engagements are properly scheduled.
• Acts as SME for governmental sector.
• Monitors billing and collection practices by engagement teams.
• Supervises staff and reviews work papers and reports.
• Contributes to staff performance evaluations and coaching.
• Involved in staff recruitment and interviewing Assurance and Advisory candidates.
• Leads business development with prospective clients; generates fee estimates and meetings.
• Ensures compliance with firm-wide policies and procedures.
