Job summary

Eden Capital Careers is seeking an Audit Director with a State and Local Government specialization. The role oversees engagements, mentors staff, and acts as a liaison among partners, clients, and teams. It offers a hybrid work setup with relocation assistance for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include leading engagements, ensuring quality per GAAS, and driving new business development while maintaining strong client relations. Travel to client sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• 10 years in public accounting with 2+ years in a senior manager role, strong public sector government audits.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.
• CPA license must be current and valid.
• Ability to travel to client and firm office locations.
• Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Experience conducting audits under GAGAS/Yellow Book, GAAS and Uniform Guidance.
• Must comply with firm-wide policies and procedures.
• Ability to direct, review and train staff.
• Exposure to audits of not-for-profit organizations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients throughout the year; builds and maintains client relationships.
• Either serves as engagement partner or reports to the engagement partner on engagements.
• Signs attest opinions as engagement partner when assigned.
• Oversees all phases of reporting to engagement partner and ensures deliverables comply with standards.
• Updates partner on important developments and resolves potential issues with partner input.
• Ensures engagements are properly scheduled.
• Acts as SME for governmental sector.
• Ensures billing and collections align with firm policy.
• Supervises staff, provides on-the-job training, and reviews work papers.
• Participates in staff performance evaluations and counseling.
• Involved in recruitment and interviewing Assurance and Advisory candidates.
• Leads business development and client meetings; prepares fee estimates.
• Maintains compliance with all Firm-wide policies and procedures.
