Job summary

Ruth's Chris Steak House in Odenton, MD is seeking a Prep Cook to prep, portion, prepare and assemble all food items offered in the restaurant. You will execute all food preparation per Ruth's Chris standards to ensure top quality and consistent plate presentation.

Maintain high sanitation and safety, assist kitchen staff, and complete closing duties. Availability nights, weekends and holidays is required, with physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a prep cook in a full-service or upscale dining setting.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication with supervisors, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and assemble all food items on the prep station per Ruth's Chris standards.
• Follow recipes, plate specifications and quality standards for consistent dishes.
• Maintain sanitation and safety across prep areas, equipment and surfaces.
• Assist other kitchen team members and complete closing duties as needed.
• Report issues promptly to the Sous Chef/Chef and ensure a clean station at shift end.
