Job summary

Agmgolf in Estero, FL is seeking a Golf Merchandise Manager to oversee golf shop merchandising, inventory and customer service excellence for members. You will plan purchases, manage stock levels and analyze sales trends to maximize profitability.

The role requires strong organization, vendor negotiation, and leadership of the golf shop staff. Proficiency with inventory software (Northstar Technologies) and MS Word/Excel is preferred, along with a professional image and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of golf merchandising and the game of golf.
• Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills.
• Experience with written and oral business communications.
• Experience with Northstar Technologies Inventory Software, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the golf merchandising function to achieve the golf operation mission.
• Oversees development of buying plans and all golf merchandise related purchasing.
• Assist Head Golf Professional with all aspects of the Golf Shop operations.
• Presents a diverse and desirable array of golf apparel and accessories.
• Maintains levels of product appropriate for the season.
• Purchases supplies, fixtures and staff uniform to promote sales.
• Maximizes financial performance by developing open-to-buy plans within budgetary guidelines.
• Maintains an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the golf shop.
• Maintains product documentation from purchase to sale; including PO's, receiving records, invoice validation, inventory records and special-order records.
• Conducts accurate and timely physical inventory counts.
• Monitors inventory and assets to reduce loss.
• Trains, motivates and develops golf shop sales staff to ensure effective sales and service.
• Develops strategies to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize business performance and profitability.
• Maintains partnerships and negotiates effectively with vendors.
• Establishes pricing structure for all inventory and special-order items in consideration of competitive pricing as well as accepted profit margin.
• Attends approved merchandise buying shows and conferences within the limits of the budget.
• Answers telephone in a courteous and professional manner.
