Job summary

Kapalau Golf is seeking a Retail Merchandise Associate to support facility-level retail operations with merchandising, inventory control, reporting, and sales support. The role includes operating the POS system for merchandise purchases and delivering excellent guest service to position the golf shop as a leading destination.

This position focuses on maintaining attractive displays, promoting merchandise, and collaborating with retail leadership on promotions and seasonal plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Strong understanding of retail service standards.
• Knowledge of merchandising, inventory, and product presentation.
• Basic golf knowledge preferred.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours in a golf shop.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Comfort with internet and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Open, operate, and close the golf shop following procedures.
• Answer phones and assist guests with purchases and questions.
• Operate POS and process merchandise sales.
• Create a welcoming, organized shopping environment with strong guest service.
• Support loss prevention by staying aware of guest activity.
• Rotate stock and keep displays clean and visually appealing.
• Assist with merchandising promotions and seasonal plans.
• Train golf shop staff on products, procedures, policies, and service standards.
• Support sales goals through presentation, product knowledge, and service.
• Participate in monthly inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
• Keep inventory in-stock and report discrepancies or damages.
• Prepare merchandise for sale floor (fold, steam, tag).
• Create and attach product tags; assist with special design needs.
