Job summary

White Oak Conservation in Yulee, FL seeks a hands-on Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to assist in planning, supervising, and executing all golf course maintenance activities.

The role reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and requires operating turf equipment, coordinating irrigation, and ensuring safety, chemical applications, and BMP compliance while maintaining exceptional course conditions.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred.
• Five years’ golf course maintenance or turfgrass management experience required.
• BMP Certification considered beneficial.
• Florida Pesticide Applicator License required within 90 days of hire.
• GCSAA membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily golf course maintenance operations and assist in planning and scheduling.
• Operate turf maintenance equipment and lead staff during mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
• Maintain detailed records of weather, pesticide logs, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate calibration of sprayers and spreaders for precise chemical applications.
• Assist with planning and coordination of golf events and tournaments.
• Oversee BMPs and watershed management across the golf courses.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper equipment maintenance and storage.
• Provide real-time coaching and leadership to team members.
