Job summary

White Oak Conservation seeks an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to lead day-to-day agronomic operations and support the Golf Course Superintendent in delivering high-quality playability and aesthetics.

The role requires eight years’ golf-course experience, GCSAA membership, and a strong focus on conservation and sustainable land management. Limited travel and a commitment to safe, efficient operations are expected.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
Turfgrass Management Certificate and golf-course related experience required.
Minimum eight years in a golf-course management position.
Active or pursuing BMP certification.
GCSAA Membership required.

Responsibilities

Supervise crew: set work procedures and schedules, coaching, training, performance evaluations.
Assist in planning and executing turf maintenance programs: mowing, irrigation, fertilization, aeration, top-dressing.
Monitor turf health, soil moisture, and climate conditions to maintain playability and conserve resources.
Lead integrated pest and disease management using sound practices.
Assist with irrigation systems maintenance and water-conservation strategies.
Ensure appearance standards, safety, and accountability across the team.
Support course renovation projects and long-term turf improvement with environmental focus.
Assist with event planning and course operations during tournaments.
