Job summary

City of Englewood seeks a senior leader to oversee golf operations, events and facilities at Broken Tee Golf Course. You will manage budgets, staff performance, and vendor relations to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

The role requires experience in golf course leadership and strong financial, operational and marketing coordination skills to support city priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree as listed; equivalent combinations may be substituted.
  • 3 years’ experience in golf course leadership with at least 2 years of customer service supervisory experience.
  • CPR/AED certification and valid Colorado driver’s license with clear MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Manage golf course activities, grounds, services, programs and events at Broken Tee Golf Course.
  • Develop fee structures and monitor budget areas; ensure compliance with city policies.
  • Hire, train, schedule, motivate and evaluate supervisor staff; plan staffing for guest experiences.
  • Oversee facility repairs, maintenance, custodial, landscaping and vendor coordination.
  • Coordinate procurement and maintenance of golf equipment, furniture and fixtures.
  • Lead collaboration with marketing to drive engagement and participation.

Job description

Overseesallgolfactivitiesandfacilitiestoensurean outstandingcustomer experience that supports the department’s strategic priorities.Provides day-to-day leadership and delivers high-qualitygolfactivities,services,programsand events within budget parameters.Directs long-range planning. Develops policies and proceduresregardingtournaments, operations, and customer service. Manages capital projects including developing plans and bid specifications, selecting contractors, and contract administration.

Direct Reports: GolfSupervisor,Golf Superintendent, Golf Coordinator,seasonal and part-timestaff

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages,develops, coordinates,and evaluatesgolfcourseactivities,golf course grounds,services,programsand eventsatBroken Tee Golf Course.
  • Responsible fordevelopingfee structures and budget. Monitors assigned budgetareas.
  • Ensuresstaff compliance with allCity-widepolicies and procedures, includingfinancialbestpractices.
  • Selects,hires,trains,schedules,motivatesandevaluatessupervisorstaff.Develops facility and program staffing plans to ensureconsistentpositive guest experiences.
  • Oversees all facility repair and maintenance issues at theBroken Tee,including:coordinatingcustodial operations, landscaping, parking lots, repair and maintenance of facilities and building systems withappropriate citydepartments and outside vendors.
  • Follows procurement policies and procedures and monitors expenditures within budget parameters.
  • Responsible forfacility security systems, including but not limited to secure access and egress, emergency systems, safety lighting, and security cameras.Ensures facility safety for guests and staff.Coordinates all property and liability incidents and insurance claims with Risk Management.
  • Stays informed ofcommunity and market trends ingolf.Works collaboratively with marketing team to drive customer engagementand awarenesstoincrease facility and program participation.Develops,implementsand evaluates marketing plans and strategies.
  • Provides input as a member of theParks, Recreation, Library, and Golfleadership team in facility planning, budgeting and capital projects.Acts as the division’s liaison to the city’s project management team.
  • Coordinatespurchase, installation, and maintenance of allgolf equipment.Oversees purchase, installation and maintenance of all furniture and fixtures for both public and staff use at each facility.
  • Overseesfacility signage, display areas, paint, fixtures,flooringand lighting to ensure consistency with departmental and city brand standards.
  • Recommends and administers policies and procedures.Creates andmaintainssafety and security procedures for facilitiesand guests.Develops and oversees staff emergency response training and procedures.
  • Cultivates, fosters, andmaintainseffective working relationships withelected officials,boards and commissions,volunteers,schools, and community organizations to helpidentifyand assess community needs.Responds promptlyand positivelyto customer concerns,complaintsand suggestions.Acts as staff liaison to committees and boards.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’sDegree in Recreation Administration, Public Administration,Sports Management, Marketing,GolfAdministration,or related field

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Mathematical- Strong skills needed to develop, manage, and supervise multiple budgets.
