The role requires 3 years in golf course leadership with supervisory experience, CPR/AED certification, and a Colorado driver’s license. Lead planning, procurement, and safety procedures across several facilities within an established budget.

SUMMARY

Oversees all golf activities and facilities to ensure an outstanding customer experience that supports the department’s strategic priorities. Provides day-to-day leadership and delivers high-quality golf activities, services, programs and events within budget parameters. Directs long-range planning. Develops policies and procedures regarding tournaments, operations, and customer service. Manages capital projects including developing plans and bid specifications, selecting contractors, and contract administration.

Reports to: Deputy Director, Parks, Recreation, Library, and Golf

Direct Reports: Golf Supervisor, Golf Superintendent, Golf Coordinator, seasonal and part-time staff

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages, develops, coordinates, and evaluates golf course activities, golf course grounds, services, programs and events at Broken Tee Golf Course.
• Responsible for developing fee structures and budget. Monitors assigned budget areas.
• Ensures staff compliance with all City-wide policies and procedures, including financial best practices.
• Selects, hires, trains, schedules, motivates and evaluates supervisor staff. Develops facility and program staffing plans to ensure consistent positive guest experiences.
• Oversees all facility repair and maintenance issues at the Broken Tee, including: coordinating custodial operations, landscaping, parking lots, repair and maintenance of facilities and building systems with appropriate city departments and outside vendors.
• Follows procurement policies and procedures and monitors expenditures within budget parameters.
• Responsible for facility security systems, including but not limited to secure access and egress, emergency systems, safety lighting, and security cameras. Ensures facility safety for guests and staff. Coordinates all property and liability incidents and insurance claims with Risk Management.
• Stays informed of community and market trends in golf. Works collaboratively with marketing team to drive customer engagement and awareness to increase facility and program participation. Develops, implements and evaluates marketing plans and strategies.
• Provides input as a member of the Parks, Recreation, Library, and Golf leadership team in facility planning, budgeting and capital projects. Acts as the division’s liaison to the city’s project management team.
• Coordinates purchase, installation, and maintenance of all golf equipment. Oversees purchase, installation and maintenance of all furniture and fixtures for both public and staff use at each facility.
• Oversees facility signage, display areas, paint, fixtures, flooring and lighting to ensure consistency with departmental and city brand standards.
• Recommends and administers policies and procedures. Creates and maintains safety and security procedures for facilities and guests. Develops and oversees staff emergency response training and procedures.
• Cultivates, fosters, and maintains effective working relationships with elected officials, boards and commissions, volunteers, schools, and community organizations to help identify and assess community needs. Responds promptly and positively to customer concerns, complaints and suggestions. Acts as staff liaison to committees and boards.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Administration, Public Administration, Sports Management, Marketing, Golf Administration, or related field

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

• Work Experience: 3 years’ experience in golf course leadership with at least 2 years of customer service supervisory experience.

• General Management –Strong skills needed for budget management, recommending and implementing policies and procedures. Supervision of multiple staff.
