Job summary

Amentum is seeking a GN&C Engineer to join our team supporting NASA’s deep space exploration efforts. The role focuses on developing and testing GN&C software and algorithms, with strong emphasis on MATLAB/Simulink/Autocode and Python/C/C++ tooling.

You will work in a collaborative environment alongside NASA civil servants and contractors. Candidates should have a engineering degree with GN&C experience, and prefer advanced degrees for higher levels.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in GN&C or related area.
  • Significant knowledge of GN&C and 6 DOF algorithms and simulations.
  • Proficiency with C/C++ and Python for flight software analysis.
  • Familiarity with validation and verification of GN&C algorithms and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork in a NASA contractor environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate safety-critical flight software.
  • Develop, integrate, and test GN&C algorithms.
  • Update GN&C Flight Software using MATLAB/Simulink/Autocode.
  • Analyze GN&C Flight Software with Python & C/C++.
  • Validate and Verify GN&C algorithms and requirements.
  • Recommend improvements to flight software and processes.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses of flight and simulation software.
