Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C) Engineer to join the team at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role focuses on developing and validating GN&C flight software and algorithms for space exploration systems.

The position requires strong C/C++ and Python skills, MATLAB/Simulink experience, and a track record in safety-critical software and verification activities. NASA collaboration and a belief in teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area.
• Significant knowledge of GN&C.
• Experience with development and analysis of 6 DOF algorithms and simulations.
• Proficiency with C/C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with validation and verification of GN&C algorithms and requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork with NASA civil servants and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate safety-critical flight software.
• Develop, integrate, and test GN&C algorithms.
• Utilize MATLAB/Simulink/Autocode to update GN&C Flight Software.
• Utilize Python and C/C++ to analyze and test GN&C Flight Software.
• Validate and Verify GN&C algorithms and requirements.
• Provide recommendations for improvements of flight software and processes.
• Perform deep-dive analyses of flight and simulation software.
