Job summary

Aegis Aerospace is hiring a Guidance, Navigation, and Mission Design Engineer to support NASA Deep Space Logistics at Kennedy Space Center, FL. The role involves GN&C analyses, modeling, and verification across mission phases and interfaces with multiple disciplines.

The successful candidate will develop simulations, perform trajectory analyses, and prepare technical deliverables for NASA and program stakeholders, with on-site collaboration and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in GNC and mission design outside of academia.
• Experience in spacecraft GN&C, orbital mechanics, mission analysis or flight dynamics.
• Experience with attitude/orbit/trajectory simulations in software tools.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB/Simulink or C++ for analyses.
• Knowledge of spacecraft attitude dynamics and mission-analysis principles.
• Ability to document results and communicate findings clearly.
• Collaborative work across NASA, contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Support GN&C and mission-design requirements, analyses and models.
• Develop and maintain spacecraft modeling tools using Python, MATLAB or C++.
• Create attitude, orbit and 6-DoF simulations to assess performance.
• Conduct trajectory analyses for mission feasibility and planning.
• Evaluate pointing accuracy, navigation and GN&C performance.
• Perform software-in-the-loop and Monte Carlo verification.
• Assist with sensor, actuators and flight software testing.
• Contribute to trade studies on trajectories, orbits and operations.
• Support lunar, cislunar, rendezvous and deep-space mission scenarios.
• Prepare analyses, documentation and presentations for NASA stakeholders.
• Coordinate across GN&C, mission design, flight software and operations.
• Participate in technical reviews and meetings; travel as needed.
