Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer to support the Deep Space Logistics Engineering Support contract. The role is on-site at Kennedy Space Center, FL, with limited travel and a requirement to be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities include reviewing system architecture, developing GN&C algorithms, and performing IV&V analyses for mission-critical spaceflight applications. Strong MATLAB, Python, C++, and 6-DOF experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in engineering with extensive related experience.
  • Experience with GN&C algorithms and spacecraft trajectory modelling.
  • Background in space systems requirements and verification.

Responsibilities

  • Review system architecture, hardware requirements, and test data.
  • Recommend improvements to designs, test plans, and procedures.
  • Ensure NASA requirements are satisfied through design reviews.
  • Track GN&C verification and validation progress.
  • Perform IV&V analyses for GN&C applications.
  • Conduct trajectory and attitude analyses for spacecraft.
  • Run 6-DOF simulations using in-house and NASA tools.
  • RPOD analysis for mission operation feasibility.
  • Navigate without GPS for deep space rendezvous scenarios.
  • Provide engineering insights to DSL providers for GN&C systems.
  • Evaluate trade-offs and support program decisions.
  • Travel for technical reviews as required.
  • Other duties as required.
