Job summary

AeroVironment, based in California, seeks a motivated GN&C Engineering Intern for a 12-week, onsite program. You will work on GN&C projects, flight testing, and software/hardware integration under experienced engineers.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning in aerospace systems, exposure to flight control systems, testing procedures, and fast-paced R&D collaboration. Open to students and recent grads with relevant coursework.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Completed coursework in GN&C, flight dynamics, control systems, embedded systems, or robotics.
• Strong interest in aircraft systems and aerospace engineering.
• Basic proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of GN&C systems for aircraft projects.
• Support system testing, including simulation environments (SIL/HIL) and flight test prep.
• Help implement and test basic flight control algorithms under supervision.
• Participate in subsystem integration and data analysis activities.
• Support engineering documentation and report writing.
• Collaborate with engineering and test teams to troubleshoot and validate solutions.
• Learn and apply engineering processes and tools for flight systems.
