Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a motivated GNC Engineering Intern for a 12-week onsite program across AV locations in the United States. You will support GN&C, flight testing, software and hardware development under experienced engineers, gaining exposure to flight control systems and system integration.

Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program with a minimum 3.0 GPA and a willingness to relocate for the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related field.
• Completed coursework in GN&C, flight dynamics, control systems, embedded systems, or robotics.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and willing to travel domestically up to 10–20%.
• Basic proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of GN&C systems for aircraft projects.
• Support system testing, including simulation environments (SIL/HIL) and flight test prep.
• Help implement and test basic flight control algorithms under supervision.
• Participate in subsystem integration and data analysis activities.
• Support engineering documentation and report writing.
• Collaborate with engineering and test teams to troubleshoot and validate solutions.
• Learn and apply engineering processes relevant to flight systems.
