Job summary

Actalent in Emeryville, CA is seeking a Lab Operations Specialist to manage inventory movement, storage, and control within a GMP-regulated lab. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Operations, Donor Center, and QA to receive, inspect, release, store, and ship materials, ensuring compliant data in ERP systems.

We require 5+ years in lab management, strong Excel skills, and experience writing SOPs, with a focus on continuous improvement and safe handling of cryo-frozen materials.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in lab management.
• Hands-on experience with lab operations in a GMP or similar regulated environment.
• Ability to write clear, compliant SOPs.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and inventory transactions.
• Proficient using Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, release, store, monitor, and issue materials internally; ship finished goods to customers.
• Ensure final disposition follows established processes and quality standards.
• Schedule and perform cycle counts; investigate discrepancies and update metrics.
• Monitor storage space and optimize space utilization.
• Update material handling SOPs and company guidelines.
