Job summary

Prime Medicine in the United States seeks a Laboratory Operations Specialist to keep our laboratory instruments in working order and ready for inspection. You will manage calibration vendors and own the system that tracks equipment, reporting to the Laboratory Operations Lead.

In this half-time role within Laboratory Operations, you will coordinate qualifications, maintenance, and repairs, ensure SOP compliance, and monitor temperature storage systems to support GMP readiness and high-quality

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in a life science or technical field or equivalent hands-on laboratory experience.
• Experience maintaining equipment in a GMP-regulated laboratory.
• Working knowledge of calibration and asset management systems such as Qualer.
• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple vendors and schedules at once.

Responsibilities

• Own the master service calendar for all laboratory instruments and equipment. Schedule every qualification, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair visit with outside vendors.
• Carry out equipment maintenance and calibration, whether directly or through a vendor technician. Ensure records satisfy SOP requirements and escalate deviations.
• Serve as the business owner of Qualer as the system of record for equipment and calibration, maintaining records for inspection.
• Track calibration and maintenance status of every instrument; tag equipment out of service or calibration due date; reconcile inventory.
• Monitor Elemental Machines as the monitoring system for controlled temperature storage units and respond to alerts.
• Maintain vendor service contacts, scopes of work, access requirements, and performance records.
