Job summary

Actalent is seeking a GMP Scientist I / GMP Operations Technician I in Columbus, OH. This hands-on role focuses on aseptic production, batch record adherence, and strict GMP compliance in a cell-based manufacturing environment. You will support day-to-day operations, document thoroughly, and help drive improvements in a regulated facility.

The position is contract-to-hire, onsite in Columbus, with full-time hours and a daytime schedule in a science-forward startup-style environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in aseptic processing or GMP manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with batch records, SOPs, and GMP guidelines.
• Ability to work in a lab/cleanroom setting with emphasis on documentation.
• Strong desire to build a career in the sciences.

Responsibilities

• Support GMP operations and production in a cell-based clinical manufacturing facility.
• Execute production processes per batch records and SOPs.
• Assist day-to-day GMP and viral vector core production operations.
• Order, receive, and maintain materials with traceability for GMP activities.
• Monitor inventory to ensure material availability for manufacturing.
• Verify materials meet quality requirements with proper documentation.
• Collaborate with GMP management on continuous improvement using metrics.
• Operate facility equipment per SOPs and perform calibration/ cleaning.
• Review and revise process documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Support change control: document changes and assess impact.
