Job summary

Actalent is seeking an R&D Scientist for a contract-to-hire role in Hudson, WI. You will perform manufacturing activities in a GMP cleanroom, handling aseptic techniques, cell processing equipment, and microscopy, while documenting meticulously.

You will collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D teams and contribute to process optimization and scale-up as the company advances from development to commercial manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field; Associates considered.
• 1+ year of GMP-regulated biotech/pharma/medical device experience.
• Hands-on aseptic technique, sample handling, reagent prep, and documentation.
• Experience in cleanrooms or controlled manufacturing environments preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs with accurate records.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform manufacturing and processing in a GMP cleanroom using aseptic techniques.
• Operate cell processing, encapsulation, microscopy, and cell-counting equipment.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and materials for manufacturing and lab ops.
• Complete batch records, logbooks, and GDP documentation accurately.
• Support quality initiatives, deviation investigations, and environmental monitoring.
• Analyze production data to support troubleshooting and process improvement.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D as the organization scales.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, SOPs, and biosecurity.
