Job summary

Actalent seeks a Research & Development Scientist to advance aseptic processing, cell therapy, and biomanufacturing within a cutting-edge GMP facility in Wisconsin. The role involves hands-on work in a cleanroom, batch-record documentation, and collaboration across Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D as processes scale from development to commercial production.

You will contribute to continuous improvement, maintain strict GMP compliance, and support environmental monitoring and inspection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related science field (Associates degree with relevant industry experience also considered).
• Hands-on laboratory experience with aseptic technique, sample handling, reagent preparation, and documentation.
• Experience working in cleanrooms or controlled manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform manufacturing and processing activities in a GMP cleanroom using aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Operate laboratory and production equipment including cell processing, encapsulation, microscopy, and cell-counting systems.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and materials to support manufacturing and laboratory operations.
• Accurately complete batch records, logbooks, and GMP documentation in accordance with GDP.
• Support quality initiatives, deviation investigations, environmental monitoring, and inspection readiness activities.
• Analyze production and laboratory data to support troubleshooting, process optimization, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D teams as the organization scales from development to commercial manufacturing.
• Maintain strict compliance with GMP regulations, SOPs, and biosecurity requirements.
