Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills in writing and speaking.
• Retail or customer service background is preferred.
• Ability to influence peers and lead by example.
• Ability to train and mentor team members.
• Comfort with lifting and moving products when needed.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to provide the best possible shopping experience and checkout.
• Assign daily tasks and communicate with team members.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet sales goals and uphold Meijer standards.
• Assist with training new hires and cross-training high potential talent.
• Assist with department scheduling to optimize engagement and store profitability.
• Ensure product rotation, freshness, and food safety compliance.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product displays where applicable.
• Support Meijer culture and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
• Operate cash register and powered equipment as needed.
• Participate in period end inventories when required.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments as needed.
