Block is seeking a senior leader for Workforce Optimization within Block Operations to shape forecasting, staffing, and vendor governance across many analytical and regulatory workstreams. You will drive an integrated operating model with AI-enabled tools and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in Workforce Management, Operations, Data Science or related fields.
• Experience leading a global Workforce Management function with forecasting, capacity planning, and vendor governance.
• Experience in high-volume customer and back-office/regulatory operations.
• Proven ability to build operating models across regions and partners with financial discipline.
• Move workforce decisions toward automated, predictive systems using data and scenario planning.
• Translate complex data into strategic decisions and align senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy and operating model for the combined Workforce Management function.
• Forecast long-range needs and translate demand into hiring and financial plans.
• Connect long-range plans to 1–8 week staffing and intraday actions.
• Define service and staffing strategies balancing speed, quality, and cost.
• Govern global outsourcing partners with performance measures and escalation protocols.
• Build analytics foundations with live visibility and forecast accuracy.
• Prioritize automation with measurable value and cross-team collaboration.
• Embed regulatory capacity planning and quality loops into the model.
• Lead incidents, near-misses, and durable process improvements.
• Align assumptions and commitments across executives and teams.
• Develop leaders and reduce key-person dependencies.
