Sims Metal is seeking a VP, AI, Data and Data Science to lead global strategy, data platforms, and enterprise AI capabilities across yards, plants, and logistics. The role partners with the CTO and ELT to deliver measurable improvements in safety, throughput, and cost, while building scalable teams and governance.

The candidate will oversee adoption, risk, and responsible innovation across a broad technology portfolio.

Qualifications

• Significant executive leadership experience in AI, data and analytics across global or complex orgs.
• Proven success deploying AI/ML from problem to production and value realization.
• Experience engaging with operators and executives at site level and board level.

Responsabilités

• Define and execute a global AI, data and analytics strategy aligned with Sims' priorities.
• Build and govern a scalable data platform, data products and self-service analytics.
• Lead the enterprise capability to design, develop, test, deploy and operate AI agents and apps.
• Own data governance, quality, metadata and master-data management with business owners.
• Develop reference patterns for agent orchestration, memory, security and observability.
• Partner with OT, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture teams for production readiness.
• Drive adoption, responsible AI, and measurable value realization across the business.
