Job Description Summary

As a member of the Global Transportation team, you will be part of an international organization that drives GE Aerospace’s transportation and logistics execution across a complex global supply chain. In this role, you will help ensure material and shipment flow support delivery commitments and customer requirements through disciplined, fast-paced transportation execution. This is a high-intensity, high-volume execution role centered on Clear to Launch activity, with a larger focus on U.S. outbound transportation from distribution centers and repair vendors, while supporting a broader global portfolio. The role provides critical Friday through Monday coverage and is designed to maintain operational continuity during a key portion of the week when rapid decisions, stakeholder engagement, and strong follow-through are essential. Success in this role requires the ability to receive handoffs, interpret priorities quickly, structure the day, and drive urgent actions across outbound logistics flows. The role demands strong communication, prioritization, and execution discipline. While there is an expectation to help improve processes over time, the primary need is flawless execution in a demanding operating environment. Preferred location: Ohio or Kentucky. Candidates located across the Eastern Time Zone may also be considered. This role provides Friday-Monday coverage for global transportation and logistics operations, with direct responsibility for execution of material movements across a fast-paced global environment.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Execute Clear to Launch transportation processes and standard work to ensure outbound shipments move on time and in alignment with delivery and customer requirements.
  • Provide critical Friday-Monday operational coverage across a fast-moving transportation environment, maintaining continuity, responsiveness, and execution discipline.
  • Receive, interpret, and prioritize handoffs from prior coverage, translating them into a structured execution plan with strong follow-through.
  • Manage a high volume of outbound transportation activity, escalations, and exceptions with urgency, accuracy, and discipline.
  • Identify and surface emerging delivery risks, while coordinating resolution across internal teams and transportation providers.
  • Support both U.S. domestic and international outbound transportation activity, with broader visibility across a global shipment portfolio.
  • Act as a key transportation escalation point, engaging stakeholders quickly to protect customer commitments and shipment performance.
  • Develop practical transportation solutions to meet urgent, expedited, or non-standard shipping requirements.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of customs-related considerations for international outbound shipments, partnering with customs and transportation teams to support compliant and efficient execution.
  • Coordinate closely with global MRO facilities, fulfilment teams, and distribution centers to maintain shipment flow, resolve issues quickly, and support delivery execution across the network.
  • Partner closely with the Clear to Build team to ensure alignment across inbound and outbound priorities, handoffs, escalation management, and end-to-end transportation execution.
  • Use supplier performance metrics, operational data, and transportation visibility tools to identify execution gaps and support improvements in service performance, process discipline, and premium transportation performance.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring execution issues, process gaps, and opportunities to strengthen outbound operating rhythms and transportation performance.
  • Use AI, analytics, digital tools, and automation to improve decision making, transportation visibility, process discipline, data quality, continuous improvement, and cost performance.
  • Contribute to transportation supplier performance improvement efforts by identifying recurring failures, supporting root cause analysis, and helping drive corrective actions.
  • Champion compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures, and EHS expectations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or material flow, including hands‑on responsibility for transportation planning and operational execution across international and domestic shipment flows)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or material flow, including hands‑on responsibility for transportation planning and operational execution across international and domestic shipment flows
Desired Characteristic
  • Experience managing transportation suppliers across complex regional networks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders clearly, concisely, and with urgency.
  • Proven ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple issues concurrently, and make sound decisions in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb handoffs, interpret operational needs, and structure work for effective daily execution.
  • Strong analytical and process-development capability.
  • Experience using data, metrics, and digital tools to manage performance and identify gaps.
  • Working knowledge of customs processes and documentation relevant to international transportation; expert-level customs knowledge is not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other digital tools used to support logistics operations.
  • Strong operational mindset with a focus on execution, responsiveness, and closure.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-intensity, high-volume, rapid-response environment.
  • Customer-focused and action-oriented, with the ability to balance urgency, compliance, service, and cost.
  • Strong problem-solving capability, including identifying themes, escalating risks, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and discipline in managing competing priorities.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to improve processes without losing focus on daily operational delivery.
