Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a skilled machinist to operate CNC equipment and set up lathes, drill presses, and mills to fabricate parts. You will check tooling, maintain tight tolerances, and troubleshoot fixtures while working across multiple machines and complex prototypes.

Safety, efficiency, and quality improvements are expected in this role. The position emphasizes experience in machine shop operations, blueprint interpretation, and a solid grasp of math principles.

Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (crimpers, soldering iron, wire strippers, brazing equipment, etc.), as well as measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, rulers, etc.).
• Basic understanding of mathematical principles (conversions to decimal system, geometry, basic math, etc.).
• Prior working knowledge of machine shop experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC equipment.

• Perform tool offset and load parts.

• Compliantly troubleshoot tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary.
• Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
• Participate in, and support, team initiatives.
• Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
• Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
• Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.

Job Description Summary Job Description Required Qualifications:

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC equipment.
• Operate any time and size of single spindle or multiple spindles on a variety of operations (drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, spot facing, countersinking, etc.).
• Use all tools, jigs, figures, and gauges necessary to perform operations.
• Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and hand tools to fabricate parts and tools.
• Check for proper tooling, sharpness, and alignment.
• Work with close tolerances and fine finishes.
• Perform tool offset and load parts.
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously.
• Perform duties on complex prototypes or first-time builds.
• Compliantly troubleshoot tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary.

Desired Qualifications & Characteristics:

• 3-5 years’ machine shop experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior education/training in machine shop operations.
• Understanding of CNC and manual machine operations.
• Basic programming knowledge to include reading editing of programs.
• Prior experience in a self-directed teaming environment.

Physical Demands:

Lift 40-82lbs (heavier items with assistance). Push/pull up to 20 lbs. This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

The pay for this position is $27.75/hour plus 10% for the shift difference. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close 11/30/26.
