Job summary

FTI Consulting is seeking a Trade Services Consultant in Chicago with 2+ years of hands-on trade compliance experience. You will support day-to-day and project-based regulatory activities, reviewing entries, classifications, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

You will analyze trade data, prepare audit-ready deliverables, and coordinate with clients, brokers, and internal teams. This role requires travel to client sites and offices in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 2+ years hands-on experience in customs, trade compliance, or import operations.
• Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and trade compliance activities.
• Experience reviewing trade data and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day and project-based trade compliance activities.
• Review customs entries, import transactions, and broker data.
• Perform tariff classification, country-of-origin, valuation analyses.
• Execute FTZ activities and related compliance.
• Importer-of-record and post-entry processes.
• Analyze trade data to identify errors and issues.
• Prepare workpapers, reconciliations, and client deliverables.
• Perform quality-control reviews and meet service levels.
• Coordinate with clients, brokers, and logistics providers.
