Job summary

FTI Consulting is seeking an experienced Trade Services Consultant with 2+ years of hands-on trade compliance and international trade experience. You will support the delivery of Trade Services engagements, executing day-to-day activities, reviewing entries, and performing tariff analyses.

You will work with clients, brokers, and internal teams to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance, and assist with data analysis, documentation, and post-entry processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in customs, trade compliance, import operations, or related international trade activities.
• Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and trade compliance activities (tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, duty mitigation, FTZs, or broker entry review).
• Experience reviewing customs entries, import documentation, trade data, and other transactional records, with strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration with clients, brokers, and internal teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to travel to clients and FTI offices.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day and project-based trade compliance activities in accordance with client requirements and laws.
• Review customs entries, import transactions and broker data for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform tariff classification, country-of-origin, valuation, tariff and duty analyses.
• Execute tariff mitigation, duty drawback, and other duty recovery activities.
• Handle FTZ activities, including admissions, inventory controls, and related compliance.
• Perform importer-of-record and post-entry processes.
• Analyze trade data to identify errors, discrepancies, and potential issues.
• Prepare workpapers, reconciliations, audit-ready files, and client deliverables.
• Conduct recurring compliance reviews and managed services activities.
• Coordinate with clients, brokers, logistics providers, and FT I team members.
