Job summary

AAR is seeking a Trade Compliance professional to support its program ensuring compliance with U.S. export/import laws and internal policy. You will coordinate with brokers and carriers, apply regulations, and advise on classification and schedules to improve efficiency.

You will utilize online systems such as DECCS, Snap-R, and ACE Portal, contribute to training, maintain records, and monitor risk, with strong communication and meticulous attention to detail as core requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in US import and export regulations and procedures or equivalent education.
• Licensed Customs Broker a plus.
• Working knowledge of ITAR/EAR.
• Attention to detail and ability to plan, schedule and coordinate own activities.
• Pro-active, strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Provide clear clearance instructions to AAR customs brokers and carriers.
• Maintain awareness of countries of concern and assist in risk-based evaluations.
• Apply US Customs Import and Census Export regulations including valuation, marking, classification, and trade agreements.
• Assist in auditing, record keeping, and compliance for all Import/Export shipments.
• Understand and train on Schedule B and Harmonized Tariff classifications.
• Identify opportunities to improve department processes and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
