AAR Corp in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to administer and continuously improve the trade compliance program in line with U.S. export/import laws and internal policy.

You will coordinate with functional areas, provide clear clearance instructions to brokers, monitor regulatory changes, apply ITAR/EAR and CFR guidelines, and support audits, training, and data accuracy. • At least 2 years’ experience in US import/export regulations or equivalent education.
• Strong understanding of ITAR/EAR and CFR titles 15 and 19.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear clearance instructions to AAR customs brokers and carriers.
• Maintain awareness of countries of concern and assess transactions based on risk.
• Apply US Customs Import and Census Export regulations regarding valuation, marking, classification, and trade agreements.
• Assist in auditing, record keeping and compliance for all Import/Export shipments or transactions.
• Understand and implement trade compliance laws and regulations including ITAR/EAR and OFAC.
• Utilize DECCS, Snap-R, and ACE Portal; train and resolve issues as needed.
• Provide guidance on Schedule B and Harmonized Tariff classifications.
• Identify opportunities to improve department processes and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

This role will support the Trade Compliance team to administer and continuously improve an effective Trade Compliance program ensuring conformance with U.S. export/import laws and internal policy. Coordinates with other functional areas on the requirements and obligations of importing and exporting commodities and data under Foreign Trade Regulations.

What you will be responsible for:

• Responsible for providing clear and accurate clearance instructions to AAR customs brokers and carriers.


• Maintain awareness of countries of concern and red flags and assist in evaluation of transactions based on risk analysis.


• Understand and apply US Customs Import and Census Export regulations regarding valuation, marking, classification, trade agreements, and special provisions.


• Assist in auditing, record keeping and compliance requirements for all Import and Export shipments or transactions to include Licenses, aircraft, aircraft related shipments and reports.


• Understand trade compliance laws and regulations such as the CFR Titles 15 and 19, ITAR, EAR, and OFAC, and implement industry best practices in accordance with those laws and regulations.


• Use and keep abreast of on-line systems including but not limited to DECCS, Snap-R, and ACE Portal. and aid in training and resolving issues and errors.


• Provide guidance on operational level matters such as Schedule B and Harmonized Tariff classifications.


• Understand department process flows, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to be successful in this role:

• At least 2 years’ experience in US import and export regulations and procedures or equivalent education.


• Working knowledge of ITAR/EAR.


• Attention to detail is required and must be able to work under general direction, plan schedule and arrange own activities in accomplishing department objectives.


• Ability to seek out self-directed learning opportunities to ensure current knowledge and best practices.
