Job summary

Vertiv seeks a detail-oriented Global Applications Engineer - Thermal Systems to translate customer thermal needs into structured reference architectures for AI server platforms. You will maintain designs for Nvidia/AMD/Intel GPUs, track thermal specs, and collaborate across engineering, sales, and partners to ensure robust, market-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Thermal Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred
• 4–7 years in product management, thermal engineering, technical sales support, or application engineering in data center/thermodynamics space
• Experience with thermal management technologies (air, liquid, immersion) and high-power GPUs is desirable

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update thermal system reference designs for AI server platforms
• Capture and document thermal specifications from partner documentation and communicate to engineering
• Liaise with partner contacts to understand upcoming thermal needs for next-gen GPUs/servers
• Define thermal system requirements, specifications, and application guidelines for AI infra projects
• Develop and maintain technical collateral (design guides, compatibility matrices, configuration tools)
• Coordinate with engineering, advanced development, and sales teams to ensure designs are technically accurate and market-ready
• Monitor competitor trends and prepare benchmarking presentations
• Assist NPDI activities with thermal data sheets and application notes
• Participate in technical meetings with server OEMs and GPU manufacturers to gather requirements
