Job summary

Cogent Communications seeks a results-driven sales professional to expand our regional footprint in IP transit and related connectivity services. You will identify opportunities, engage executives, and close deals through a consultative approach leveraging Cogent's global network footprint.

You will work in-office in the Los Angeles area, targeting businesses needing high-speed Internet access, private networks, and data center services.

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of solid B2B sales experience in telecom, with collocation, wholesale, data transit/transport.
• Proven track record of hunting, closing and meeting quota in a direct sales role.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed regional sales territory and target markets (IP Transit, content creators/hosters, carriers/wholesalers, Netcentric companies).
• Directly engage Key Decision Makers via calling, email and outreach to qualify and generate opportunities.
• Supplement prospecting with onsite meetings when needed and use consultative selling techniques to position connectivity solutions.
