Job summary

PayPal Inc. seeks an experienced Tax Counsel – Information Reporting to ensure global compliance with information reporting and withholding tax rules (FATCA, CRS, CARF, 1099).

You will work with cross-functional partners to assess new products and update policies, applying sound judgment to identify and mitigate tax risk across PayPal’s products and processes. The role involves drafting policy documents, coordinating with outside advisors, and mentoring junior attorneys while supporting system

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax experience and a JD or foreign equivalent.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage significant tax matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex tax issues affecting operations and initiatives.
• Develop tax analyses to support planning, reporting, and compliance.
• Collaborate with business units and Finance to structure initiatives tax-efficiently.
• Identify tax risk exposures and propose mitigations.
• Coordinate with external advisors as needed.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to knowledge within tax.
