PayPal is seeking an experienced Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure compliance with information reporting and withholding tax rules (FATCA, CRS, CARF, 1099) across global products and processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new products and determine necessary policies, exercising sound judgment on legal risks and defensible positions.

Qualifications

5+ years of tax experience in a corporate or in-house setting.
Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage significant tax matters.

Responsibilities

Advises on complex tax issues affecting business operations and strategic initiatives.
Develops and documents technical tax analyses for planning, reporting, audit defense, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborates with business units and Finance leadership to structure initiatives in a tax-efficient, compliant manner.
Identifies tax risk exposures and recommends mitigation strategies aligned with PayPal's risk tolerance.
May mentor junior attorneys and contribute to knowledge development within the tax function.
