Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Tax Counsel focused on information reporting to ensure global policy compliance across FATCA, CRS, CARF and 1099. The role partners with cross-functional teams to assess new products, draft policy requirements, and mitigate tax risk in a dynamic payments environment.

The ideal candidate has a JD, bar admission in at least one jurisdiction, 5+ years of tax experience, and a proven ability to manage significant tax matters across global product lines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant tax experience.
• JD or foreign equivalent required.
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction required.

Responsibilities

• Advises on complex tax issues affecting business operations and strategies.
• Develops technical tax analyses to support planning, reporting, audit defense, and compliance.
• Partners with business units and Finance leadership to structure initiatives tax-efficiently and compliantly.
• Identifies tax risk exposures and recommends mitigation aligned with PayPal's risk tolerance.
• Coordinates with external advisors and manages external engagements.
• Mentors junior attorneys and contributes to knowledge within the tax function.
