Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Supplier Industrialization Engineer in Somerville, MA. You will partner with R&D to qualify suppliers for new products, own PFEP in NPI BOM, and manage supplier selection, negotiation, and contracts to ensure value, quality, and risk mitigation.

You’ll lead technical communication between suppliers and Formlabs, explore new manufacturing tech, and drive supplier performance improvements while coordinating cost modeling and material sourcing for timely NPI builds.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years post-graduate experience in sourcing, manufacturing or supplier quality engineering.
• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 20% for supplier visits and audits.
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience developing process quality plans and supplier quality audits.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong data analysis and attention to detail; independent yet collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with R&D to identify and qualify suppliers for new product introductions.
• Own PFEP in NPI BOM; manage supplier selection, negotiation, and contracts.
• Communicate technical requirements between suppliers and Formlabs R&D.
• Research manufacturing technologies to strengthen supply chain strategies.
• Identify supply risks and drive supplier performance improvements.
• Lead, track, and coordinate supplier manufacturing process development for launches.
• Support cost modeling and cost estimation for new products with suppliers.
• Coordinate with suppliers and CM to source materials for NPI builds.
• Provide clear-to-build reports and senior leadership updates on material availability and costs.
