Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to drive continuous improvement with suppliers and monitor performance. The role requires travel up to 50% and focuses on cost reduction, problem solving, and supplier quality enhancements.

You will lead supplier audits, manage transfer projects, and collaborate across the business unit to set supplier criteria based on price, quality, and compliance. A bachelor’s degree in engineering and 4+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Education: bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years supplier development experience.
• Analytical and technical skills to understand business practices.
• Advanced computer skills and ability to understand electronic processing.
• Experience with PPAP and Quality System Improvements in the supply base.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Certification in Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost reduction projects through supplier continuous improvement activities.
• Use structured problem solving to resolve chronic part shortages.
• Lead supplier site audits and coordinate audits with cross-functional team.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of time.
• Lead work transfer projects from inception through full transition.
• Initiate vendor quality management and process improvements including evaluating process capability and tracking delivery.
• Collaborate with the business unit to establish preferred supplier criteria based on price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with regulations.
