Job summary

Parker Aerospace, Exotic Metals Forming Division, seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to drive continuous improvement with suppliers, perform audits, and manage quality initiatives across the supply base. The role requires domestic and international travel up to 50% and a bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field.

Ideal candidates have at least 4 years in supplier development, strong analytical skills, PPAP experience, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field
  • Minimum 4 years in supplier development
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to handle electronic processing
  • Experience with PPAP and quality system improvements in the supply base
  • Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional interfacing
  • Lean Enterprise principles experience; Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost reduction projects through supplier continuous improvement activities
  • Use structured problem solving to resolve chronic part shortages
  • Lead supplier site audits and coordinate audits with cross functional team
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
  • Lead work transfer projects from inception through full transition
  • Initiate vendor quality management and process improvements including evaluating process capability and tracking supplier performance
  • Collaborate with the business unit to establish supplier selection criteria
