Job summary

The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Science seeks a Student Affairs & Study Abroad Coordinator (SASAC) to manage administrative operations, advise on study abroad options, and support global programs. Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Affairs, the SASAC will maintain communication channels, update handbooks, track conduct, and coordinate program activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using problem-solving skills to identify and document academic needs patterns.
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Comfort operating in a fast-moving, technology-rich environment; ability to learn new tools quickly and work across platforms (scheduling systems, Google Workspace, other CRM tools).
  • Self-starter who thrives on accountability, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and drive daily operations forward.
  • Understanding and alignment with Penn Engineering’s mission and values.
  • Preferred: A Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated understanding of the intersectional needs and concerns of student populations in STEM.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated organizational and planning skills to set work priorities under deadlines.
  • Preferred: Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities

  • Student Affairs Coordination: Support Student Affairs email, newsletters, handbooks, website updates, and conduct tracking; assist with community engagement materials.
  • Study Abroad Advising: Guide SEAS students on study abroad options, eligibility, and course alignment; liaise with Penn Global and Exchange Students;
  • Community Learning & Knowledge Management: Develop advisor training resources and coordinate OAS meeting agendas; support student engagement initiatives.
  • Office of Academic Services Support: Provide systems support for CRM and Student Registration Systems; schedule OAS meetings.
