Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead regulatory and standards efforts for thermal management in data center cooling. The role is hybrid (3 days/week in UL locations in the US) with remote consideration for non-commutable candidates.

You will act as SME across technologies, contribute to standards committees, and publish technical results. You will drive continuous improvement, oversee test methods, and represent UL at industry events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal/Fluid Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Physics.
• Minimum 12+ years of direct, progressive engineering experience in high-density data center cooling design, HPC or hyperscale cloud ecosystems.
• Demonstrated leadership and experience managing global cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Boundary Architect (Regulatory & Standards).
• Hazard Protocols: engineer safety evaluations for coolant leaks, dielectric fluids, and refrigerant flammability.
• Commercial Vision: convert thermal management trends and safety metrics into profitable services.
• Ecosystem Developer (OCP & Market Alignment).
• OCP Standardization: embed UL safety philosophies into open specifications.
• Service Creation: launch UL Verified programs for cold plate dissipation and fast disconnects.
• Global Compliance: align offerings with DOE, NRCan, EU Ecodesign regulations.
