Job summary

Sourceability is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead the Software Engineering function within GEO. You will manage distributed teams, shape structure, and enforce engineering standards while partnering with CTO, PMs, and senior leaders to deliver critical platforms.

The role emphasizes ownership, measurable delivery, and balancing new product work with maintenance of legacy systems, in a hybrid setup from our Austin, TX office.

Qualifications

• 8 years of software engineering experience, including hands-on development before moving into management.
• 3 years of experience managing software engineering teams, preferably distributed across locations/time zones.
• Experience building or scaling engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, and coaching.
• Practical understanding of backend/frontend APIs, databases, testing, CI/CD, and release processes.
• Strong communication and ability to explain risks and tradeoffs to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage distributed software engineering teams across geographies/time zones.
• Build GEO software engineering function structure, hiring plans, onboarding, and career development.
• Coordinate with CTO, PMs, and tech leads to translate priorities into execution plans.
• Ensure strong technical design, code quality, and production readiness across teams.
• Enforce engineering standards, code reviews, and documentation discipline.
