Job summary

Rapid Micro Biosystems is seeking a detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our Lowell, MA logistics team, focusing on accurate international and domestic outbound shipments, HTS classification, and compliant documentation.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in shipping/receiving, experience with SAP, and a strong eye for detail. You will work independently, lift up to 50 lbs, and contribute to ongoing improvements in shipping operations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of shipping/receiving experience, with an emphasis on international shipping.
• Working knowledge of HTS code classification and export documentation requirements.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP system for inventory and shipping transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and manage international and domestic outbound shipments as the primary function of the role, ensuring accuracy in documentation, labeling, and packaging
• Classify goods using accurate HTS codes and ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and destination country import requirements
• Prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other export documentation
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure timely and compliant international delivery
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips; report discrepancies or damage
• Maintain accurate inventory records for both incoming and outgoing materials
• Utilize SAP to process shipping/receiving transactions, update inventory records, and generate shipping documentation
• Ensure proper handling, packaging, and labeling of materials in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
• Support Dangerous Goods (DG) shipment identification and handling procedures where applicable
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving area in compliance with company and safety standards
• Identify process improvements and proactively resolve shipping issues with minimal direction
