Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking a Service Project Manager to drive customer support and project management initiatives.

You will work with Global Execution Centers, manage remote work crews, and ensure commitments to customers are met throughout the project lifecycle. The role demands 10+ years of PM experience, strong leadership, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in Project Management, Field Service, Project Engineering, or Customer Support.
• Proven accomplishments in critical thinking and issue resolution.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration.
• Knowledge of project management skills such as critical path and risk identification and mitigation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver quality results.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to closing issues and leading teams.
• Candidate must already have work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Be the single point of contact for customers for their needs.
• Take full ownership of customer-related issues and drive them to completion with internal and external suppliers and team members.
• Work cohesively with Global Execution Centers to address site issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Be accessible outside of regular working hours for issue resolution and response.
• Drive all activities on assigned projects/services and report to management on status.
• Manage remote work crews and specialized engineers.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail while adhering to Hitachi Energy processes for project execution.
• Ensure Hitachi Energy’s commitments to customers are met, in accordance with the contract.
• Set customer expectations to ensure a smooth project including acceptance of project deliveries and timely payment.
• Utilize Full Cost Calculation/Model to develop new opportunities while controlling current project costs and cash flows.
• Engage customers, suppliers, and internal finance to ensure timely and correct payments.
• Participate in the negotiation of project-specific terms and conditions with legal counsel.
• Report status/progress to the customer and others with appropriate detail and raise potential project issues early.
• Utilize negotiation skills for scope and change management to pursue additional revenue opportunities.
• Ensure the project follows company health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Identify risks and mitigation alternatives and pursue a mitigation approach.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain Management on project transportation and logistics.
• Review critical suppliers’ progress and include it in the overall schedule.
• Build wide networks of contacts inside and outside the organization.
• Gain agreement and commitment by persuading and negotiating; manage conflicts.
