Job summary

Vaco is seeking a Senior Accountant in Bethel, CT for a highly visible role supporting international accounting operations across multiple entities. The position offers a hybrid schedule and a strong benefits package, including a 6% 401(k) match.

You will manage P&L and balance sheet accounting across regions, participate in month-end close, intercompany activities, and FP&A collaboration to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger and month-end close exposure.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
• Public accounting plus private industry experience preferred.
• Analytical mindset with variance investigation and problem solving.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and data analysis.
• Experience with intercompany accounting and multi-entity environments; Microsoft D365 experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage P&L and balance sheet accounting across international regions.
• Prepare month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and management reporting packages.
• Support intercompany accounting and regional activities.
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Assist with audit support, tax coordination, and internal controls.
• Analyze trends and provide insights to leadership.
• Collaborate on ERP, reporting, and process improvements across regions.
