Vaco by Highspring seeks a Senior Accountant to join the finance team in Stamford, CT. The role covers accounting operations, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting, and payroll oversight for about 260 employees in a hybrid schedule with three days in the office.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Accounting and 5+ years of progressive accounting and payroll experience, with strong GAAP knowledge and ADP Workforce Now proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and payroll accounting.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong MS Office and accounting/payroll system skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close activities with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee semi-monthly payroll processing for ~260 employees using ADP.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting materials for management and Board.
• Support annual audit with schedules and reconciliations.
• Maintain internal controls and policies; mentor staff.
