Job summary

The Senior Accountant - International, based in the Accounting Center of Excellence in Atlanta, GA, supports Cox Automotive’s global accounting operations. This role handles GL accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and research while collaborating with U.S. and international teams.

Key duties include daily and monthly close tasks, balance sheet and P&L analysis, and ensuring accurate results. Strong accounting policy knowledge and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance and/or Accounting with 4+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA preferred.
• 2+ years of experience performing international operational accounting.
• Knowledge of month-end close processes and general accounting principles.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP with exposure to IFRS and other international accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly close by preparing journal entries or coordinating with offshore team members.
• Record, reconcile and settle intercompany transactions between US and international entities.
• Perform accounting research and variance analysis to explain significant fluctuations.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure proper support for balances.
• Explain differences between US GAAP and local statutory accounting.
• Document local processes to standardize in line with policy.
• Lead preparation of PBC schedules and provide audit support for statutory audits.
• Identify process improvements, including automation and offshore integration.
